Poor video quality, at night it's completely imposible to understand something... if the live view yet looks so and so , well the recorded files are about 50% worse... primitive cheap menu, poor translations...

The software is a bit primative and could be more intuitive but the bottom line is it works and you can eventually get what you need done.
Could use conversion software the view backups in something other than Swann's software and allow for editing. The remote viewing is a nice feature as we can keep an eye on our dogs and our home when we're out and about. If you had to use the video to positively identify someone you would be out of luck, especially in IR mode. The system is beyond a basic system due to the features it has. These are just my opinions and I'm not knocking the product. For the money I would say it's an average value.
